Use Vicon Virtual System (VVS) to emulate connections to a live Vicon system by  <span style="color: #172b4d">streaming captured X2D camera data</span> and X1D analog Vicon data files.

VVS is compatible with the Vicon software listed in the following sections.

## Use VVS with Shogun Live 1.# and Shogun Markerless 1.#

You need the following file types (that all belong to the same take) to use VVS with Shogun Live 1.#:

- Motion capture file (MCP)
- Raw camera data file (X2D)
- (Optional) Subject data file(s) (VSK)

 If your system includes Vicon Vanguard or Vicon Vue cameras, you also can also use:

- Camera video files (VVID)

**To manage the stream in VVS**:

1. Open Vicon Virtual System.
2. In  **Camera Data File (X2D)**, load the X2D file.
3. Open Shogun Live or Shogun Markerless.
4. To ensure you are using the correct configuration, clear the **System** and **Tracking** panels before loading any files.
5. In Shogun Live or Shogun Markerless, select the **Camera Calibration** panel and click **Load Camera Calibration**.
6. Select the project's MCP file to load.
7. In VVS, click **Stream**.

When streaming, if you can only see the reconstructions, you may also want to view subjects from VSK files. To load subjects:

1. In Shogun Live or Shogun Markerless, select the **Tracking** panel.
2. Click **Import Subject**.
3. Find the directory containing the subject data and import the relevant VSK files.

If your system includes Vicon Vanguard or Vicon Vue cameras, you may want to display the video along with the other data. To do this:

1. In VVS, load the required Shogun Live or Shogun Markerless X2D file.
2. Next to the **Camera Video Files** field, click the folder button to select one or more related Vanguard or Vue video (VVID) file(s).
3. Open Shogun Live or Shogun Markerless and follow the remaining steps above to load a camera calibration and stream the data.

## 
    Use VVS with Evoke 1.#


To use VVS with Evoke 1.#, you need the following file types:

- Motion capture file (MCP)
- Raw camera data file (X2D)

If your system includes Vicon Vue cameras, you also can also use:

- Camera video files (VVID)

**To manage the stream in VVS**:

1. Open Vicon Virtual System.
2. In **Camera Data File (X2D)**, load the X2D file.
3. Open Evoke.
4. To ensure you are using the correct configuration, clear the  **System**  and  **Tracking**  panels before loading any files.
5. To apply a calibration to the cameras, you must load the equivalent MCP file for the X2D file that is loaded in VVS. To do this, in Evoke, select the** Camera Calibration** panel and click **Load Camera Calibration**.
6. Select the project's MCP file.
7. In VVS, click **Stream**.

If your system includes Vicon Vue cameras, you may want to display the video along with the other data. To do this:

1. As described above, in VVS, load the required X2D file.
2. Next to the **Camera Video Files** field, click the folder button to select one or more related Vanguard or Vue video (VVID) file(s).

## Use VVS with Nexus 2.#

To use VVS with Nexus 2.#, you need the following file types:

- Calibration file (XCP)
- Raw camera data file (X2D)

If you want to stream analog data, you also need the following file types:

- System configuration file (SYSTEM)
- Raw analog data file (X1D)

If your system includes Vicon Vue cameras, you also can also use:

- Camera video files (VVID)

**To manage the stream in VVS**:

1. Open VVS.
2. If you have analog data, in the** Device Data File** field, load your X1D file.
3. In the **Camera Data File** field, load your X2D file.
4. Open Nexus.
5. To ensure you are using the correct configuration, on the **System Preparation** tab, under **Manage Camera Calibration**, click **Reset** to clear any current calibrations before loading any files. Also remove any subjects from the **Subjects** tab.
6. On the **System Preparation** tab, click **Load**.  
Alternatively, you can use ** File > Import XCP**.
7. Select your XCP file and then select **Open**.  
This applies a calibration to the cameras.
8. Go back to VVS and select **Stream**.


    If you can only see reconstructions and want to see the subject:


1. In Nexus, select the  **Subjects** tab and then select **Load**** an existing subject**.
2. Navigate to your subject data directory and import the VSK file for the subject.

The VSK  is  saved in your session data folder.

If your system includes Vicon Vue cameras, you may want to display the video along with the other data. To do this:

1. As described above, in VVS, load the required X2D file.
2. Next to the **Camera Video Files** field, click the folder button to select one or more related Vanguard or Vue video (VVID) file(s).

> ⚠️ **Note**  
> ⚠️ VVS does not stream data from any third-party digital devices.

## Use VVS with Tracker 4.#

To use VVS with Tracker 4.#, you need the following file types:

- Calibration file (XCP)
- Raw camera data file (X2D)

If you want to stream analog data, you also need the following file types:

- System configuration file (SYSTEM)
- Raw analog data file (X1D)

**To manage the stream in VVS**:

1. Open VVS.
2. In the **Camera Data File** field, load the X2D file.
3. Open Tracker.
4. To ensure you are using the correct configuration, clear the **System** and **Tracking** panels before loading any files.
5. On the **Camera Calibration** tab, click the **Load Camera Calibration** button.
6. Select the XCP file.
7. When ready, select **Stream**.
8. To finish streaming, select **Stop**.

To add analog data to the stream:

1. With VVS idle, load an X1D file.
2. In Tracker, click System Settings > Macro (inline-media-image)

 on the right of the Tracker menu bar, click **Manage** then in the **Manage System Settings** dialog, select or import a settings (SYSTEM) file.
3. In VVS, select **Stream**.

> ⚠️ **Important**
> ⚠️ 
> ⚠️ - The X2D, XCP, SYSTEM and X1D files must all correspond to the same recorded trial.
> ⚠️ - If you have specified an X1D file but do not see a device listed on the **System** tab, ensure that your device has been properly configured.

If you don't see any objects being tracked in the **3D View**:

1. Go to the **Tracking** tab.
2. Make sure your object is selected.
3. If your object is not listed, select **Import Object** or create a new object.

# Addressed issues for Vicon Virtual System

The following issue is addressed in VVS 1.9:

- In systems running Vicon Nexus and Vicon Vue cameras, captures that include a video file with a negative tick offset now play back successfully through VVS and if the video is subsampled, it runs at the correct subsampled rate.
