> Macro (toc)

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have set up and installed the following components:

- 1 x PC with Vicon software (Shogun) installed
- 1 x PC with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) installed
- The PCs are connected via LAN
- Vicon Live Link Datastream plugin is installed and enabled on Unreal Engine 5 (see[ Install and set up Live Link](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Unreal5Plugin113/pages/1152057356))
- An Unreal Engine 5 project is open
- The subject is wearing the correct marker set and is calibrated in the volume.
- The prop has the correct markers and has been created in Shogun.

## Set up Shogun

1. Create a subject using the Live Subject calibration.
2. Take note of the subject name.
3. Create a prop using the **Tracking** panel.
4. Take note of the name of the prop.
:check_mark: **Tip**: The prop bone can be manipulated while on Pause. This can be useful for aligning props to FBX files for UE5.
5. Take note of the name of the root bone. By default, all props created in Shogun have a root bone named *root*.

## Set up Live Link

To set up Live Link, use one of the methods described in [Connect to Vicon Datastream](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Unreal5Plugin113/pages/1152057352).

## Set up a character

To set up a character, see [Create Animation Blueprint for a body](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Unreal5Plugin113/pages/1152057400).

## Set up a prop

To set up a prop or object, see [Set up props and objects using Transform Role](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Unreal5Plugin113/pages/1152057438).

## Check the animation at runtime

After you have set up Like Link, a character, and a prop, the animation should now be streaming onto the character, as seen in the preview window.

To check if the animation is still streaming at runtime go to the toolbar at the top, click **Play**, and observe the animation data streaming onto the character.

## Package the project

1. Follow the instructions in [Package a project](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Unreal5Plugin113/pages/1152057359).
2. Launch the executable.
