After you have created and calibrated a subject in Shogun Markerless, if required, you can recalibrate or reboot it.

- [Recalibrate a subject](#RecalibrateSubject) Removes all previous measurements so you can compute a new calibration for the subject. You can use the same performer or a different performer.
- [Reboot a subject](#reboot) Uses the same set of measurements for a particular performer when they re-enter the volume. Use this feature to capture a subject that has already been set up (for example, if a performer has to leave the volume and then returns).

## Recalibrate a subject in Shogun Markerless

If you are not happy with the calibration of a subject, or you have calibrated using the wrong performer, you can recalibrate a subject.

**To recalibrate a subject:**

1. Ask the performer to enter the volume.
2. Have the performer stand in a T-pose.  
:warning: **Note**: If other performers or subjects are in the volume, ask them to remain still and avoid standing in a T-pose.
3. At the top of the **Tracking **panel, in the **Subjects** section, right-click the subject that you want to recalibrate and then click **Recalibrate**.
  The subject is recalibrated.

<span style="color: #1d1c1d">If your calibrations still don't look correct, ask the performer to move further into the capture volume. Check the 2D keypoints in the camera view to see if all the cameras are detecting the subject's keypoints correctly.</span>

Reboot a subject in Shogun Markerless

Use the reboot feature to reuse a subject for the same performer. You must use the same performer that was used to calibrate the subject, otherwise, the difference in measurements between the performers may result in jittering and squashed/stretched limbs. Do not reuse subjects for different performers: instead use the recalibrate feature (see [Recalibrate a subject](#RecalibrateSubject)).

The reboot feature is useful if you are a sole operator and need to run the software as well as being the performer in the volume.

**To reboot a subject:**

1. Ask the performer to enter the volume.
2. Have the performer stand in a T-pose.  
:warning: **Note**: If other performers are in the volume, ask them to remain still and avoid standing in a T-pose.
3. At the top of the **Tracking **panel, in the **Subjects** section, right-click the subject that you want to reboot and then click **Reboot**.

The selected subject is rebooted.

> ✅ **Tip**  
> ✅ If you try to reboot a subject and the reboot seems to be applied but tracking doesn't start, repeat the reboot (or calibrate) operation. The performer is then tracked successfully.
