In Shogun Markerless 1.18 and later, you can combine the precision of marker-based tracking for specific performer joints with the convenience and efficiency of markerless performer tracking.

To do this, you create the required clusters (which can be attached to any combination of head, hands and/or feet) as props in Shogun Markerless. You then constrain them to a skeleton in Shogun Post, export from Post as a VSK and import the VSK into Shogun Markerless, resulting in more accurate and more robust tracking, while increasing the fidelity of movement of the head, hands, and feet.

## Place clusters on a performer

Before you create and calibrate a subject, attach labeling clusters to the required areas of the performer (head, hands and/or feet).

> ⚠️ **Important**
> ⚠️ Ensure you attach the clusters securely to the performer. After you’ve created the subject in Shogun Post, any movement of the clusters affects the skeleton of the performer.

In the following table, the descriptions and images show where to place the clusters on a performer.

| Location | Description | Images |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Head | Place the cluster on top of the head, in a central position. | ![markerless-head-cluster.jpg](media://41097882-85b4-4243-a79f-9c7023c0930f) |
| Hands | Place the clusters on the backs of the hands. | ![markerless-hand-cluster.jpg](media://d3c38cbb-45fe-4072-9fed-57a47e211e32)<br>![markerless-hand-clusters.jpg](media://3121dedc-a842-43eb-a286-066837482c96) |
| Feet | Place the clusters on the top of the feet, just behind the large bend before the toes. | ![markerless-feet-clusters.jpg](media://ec704635-25e7-468c-b36a-ee906c38edb3) |

## Create props from clusters

After you have placed the required clusters on the performer, in Shogun Markerless, create props from the clusters in the usual way:

1. Pause live streaming (press the space bar) and in the **3D View**, select the markers for the cluster prop.
2. In the **Tracking** panel, ensure the **Setup** tab is selected.
3. In the **Object** section, go to the **Prop** field, enter a suitable name for the cluster prop and click **Create**.

For details, see also [Create props](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ShogunMarkerless119/pages/850331171) and [Work with props](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ShogunMarkerless119/pages/850331095) in *Getting started with Vicon Shogun Markerless*.

## Capture a take containing cluster props

When you have created props that represent the labeling clusters that you want to use in hybrid cluster tracking, the next step is to capture the performer wearing the clusters.

1. Create a new subject using the default template and with the performer in a T-pose, right-click on the subject and click **Calibrate**. For details, see [Create and calibrate a subject](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ShogunMarkerless119/pages/850330903) in *Getting started with Vicon Shogun Markerless*.
In the 3D view, the subject skeleton is displayed, indicating that it is calibrated and the cluster prop objects are tracked.
2. Capture a T-pose and simple ROM, preferably including movement of the clusters.

For more information on capturing with Shogun Markerless, see also [Capture a take](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ShogunMarkerless119/pages/850331352) in *Getting started with Vicon Shogun Markerless*.

## Load the hybrid tracking data into Shogun Post

You can now load the data into Shogun Post to constrain the clusters to the skeleton. For information, see [Work with hybrid tracking clusters from Shogun Markerless](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ShogunPost119/pages/850462157) in *Getting more from Vicon Shogun Post*.

## Import the VSK including props into Shogun Markerless

When you have finished working on the skeleton that includes the clusters in Shogun Post, save your changes and import the VSK back into Shogun Markerless.

1. In Shogun Markerless, at the top of the **Tracking** panel, click the **Import subject** button to load the subject VSK file (and VSS file) that you exported from Shogun Post (see [Work with hybrid tracking clusters from Shogun Markerless](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ShogunPost119/pages/850462157) in *Getting more from Vicon Shogun Post*).
The previous subject is replaced with the one you just imported.
2. Assign the clusters to the required slots. To do this, in the 3D View (or in the Tracking panel), select the cluster and Ctrl+select its slot in the Tracking panel, then right-click either the cluster or the slot and select **Assign Object**.
3. Reboot the updated subject.
The live tracking of the subject is now affected by the movement of the clusters, increasing the fidelity of movement and the robustness of the tracking of the affected limbs.
