## Use Windows settings to control the display language

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️ If you use a Chinese version of Windows, Simplified Chinese may already be the default language configuration and you may not need to use the following instructions.

To display Shogun Live in Simplified Chinese, ensure the following settings are selected in Windows.

1. Within the **Language & Region** settings, ensure that you have installed the **Chinese (Simplified, Mainland China)** language pack on your machine.
2. Change the **Regional format** to **Chinese (Simplified, Mainland China)**.

> ⚠️ **Note**
> ⚠️ Following these steps may also affect the language displayed in other applications on your PC. If you want to keep Windows in another language but display Shogun Live in Simplified Chinese, see [Use a JSON file to run Shogun Live in Simplified Chinese](#JSONfile).

## Use a JSON file to change the language for Shogun Live to Simplified Chinese

If you want to keep Windows in another language (eg, English) but change the language used for Shogun Live to Simplified Chinese, complete the following steps.

1. Create a JSON file called *ShogunLive.json*.
2. Copy the content from [ShogunLive.json example](#JSON-example) into the file and save it.
3. Place the file in the following location:
*C:\Users\*<username>*\AppData\Roaming\Vicon\Settings\ShogunLive.json*
If the *Settings* folder does not exist in this path, create the folder.
:check_mark: **Tip**: If you can’t see the *AppData* folder, it may be hidden. To display the *AppData* folder, in the File Explorer in Windows 11, on the menu bar, click **View,** point to **Show** and ensure **Hidden Items** is selected.

If you are uncertain how to create the JSON file or would like the file to be provided for you, please contact [Vicon Support](mailto:support@vicon.com).

> ⚠️ **Note**
> ⚠️ Repeat this method for each subsequent user who wants to display Shogun Live in Simplified Chinese.
