> ⚠️ **Important**
> ⚠️ Revoking a network license on a license server requires Administrator permissions. If you try to revoke a network license and you don't have Administrator permissions, the license is not revoked, even if you complete the correct procedure.

You may find that you need to move your Vicon Nexus license to a license server machine that is different from the one for which you originally obtained the license. To do this, you must revoke the original license. (If you want to temporarily use a single license seat on a remote machine, see [Borrow a network license](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Nexus220/pages/897712609).)

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️ You can revoke Standalone and Network licenses. You cannot revoke Dongle licenses. If you need to move a Dongle license to another machine, plug the dongle into the new machine and, using the same license file, follow the procedure to activate the license file, as described in [Request and activate Dongle licenses](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Nexus220/pages/897712536).

**To revoke a Vicon Nexus license:**

1. Ensure you have Administrator permissions on the machine on which you want to revoke the license.
2. On the license server computer, open the advanced **Vicon Product Licensing** dialog as an administrator. To do this:
  1. In Windows **Search**, enter `Vicon Product Licensing`.
  2. Below the app on the right, select **Run as administrator**.
3. At the top right of Vicon Product Licensing, click **Change**, select **View Licenses from the Locally Installed License Server** and then click **OK**, to ensure you can only view local licenses.
4. Ensure none of the seats for which you want to revoke licensing are in use. To check which seats are currently in use:
  1. In the top part of the **Vicon Product Licensing** dialog, select the required license.
  2. Right-click and then select **Details**.
At the bottom of the License Details dialog, the seats that are currently checked out are displayed. The **Seats **column displays the seats that are in use and the **User **column displays the user of each seat.
  3. Close any Vicon apps that are open on the seats you want to revoke.
5. In the top part of the **Vicon Product Licensing** dialog, right-click on the license you want to revoke and select **Revoke**.
6. In the **Revoke a License** dialog, enter the requested information.
:ISO_warning: **Important**: If you are revoking seats from a Network license, make sure that **Available Seats** shows that all the seats that you want to revoke are checked in. In the following example, all five of the seats are checked in and can be revoked. If it displayed 2/5, you could only revoke two of the five seats.
7. Depending on whether you have have an email client installed or if you want to email later, do one of the following:
  - To email Vicon the relevant details, click **Revoke and Email Confirmation**; or
  - To save the information to a file to email later, click **Revoke and Save Confirmation to a File**.
In the **Select Output File Location **dialog, ensure that the location for the file is as required and click **OK**.
If you choose this option, email the file as an attachment to [Vicon Support](mailto:support@vicon.com), or if you have opened an active licensing case, attach it to your reply.
8. In the **Revoke License** dialog, click **Yes**.
9. Close the dialogs.

When Vicon Support receives your email, a member of Support validates the revocation and you will receive an email with the subject line **Revocation Confirmation** from **noreply@salesforce.com** containing a Product Key (PKID), enabling you to request and activate a replacement license (see [Request and activate Nexus licenses by product key](https://vicon-help.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Nexus220/pages/897712436)).
